Leaning into Death and Dying
Hi there, I'm Lisa. I am an End-of-Life Doula, ready to serve you and your family.
Hi there, I'm Lisa. I am an End-of-Life Doula, ready to serve you and your family.

An end-of-life doula comes alongside a person who is transitioning through the dying process. They serve as a guide to the one dying as well as their loved ones, offering physical, emotional, and spiritual support. Death doulas create a nurturing space for the dying that honors them while supporting all involved through this difficult and often challenging time.
Death doulas are an anchoring presence in the midst of the uncertainty that the death and dying process often bring. They create loving and compassionate spaces filled with conscious care and reverence. This ensures that each person is treated with the dignity they deserve as they transition from this life.
The values that guide me in holding space for the dying and their loved ones are: compassion, conscious care, education, presence, and respect. These values are inclusive of all who share this human journey. My work is interspiritual in nature, serving those who consider themselves religious, spiritual, spiritual but not religious, and/or those who claim no particular faith tradition or spiritual path.

My 3-hour Releasing Ritual assists with the transition through creating an "honoring space" or altar, music, sound healing, anointing with oils, prayer and gentle touch. My therapy dog Chance also brings his loving spirit and presence to be with the dying, when that is something that is desired and welcomed. Longer vigils are offered as needed and upon request. I am a Reiki Practitioner and provide sessions to bring much needed healing touch to our elderly, as well as making myself available and offering sessions for family and caregivers. End-of-Life Caregiver Trainings help to normalize dying and support caregivers in assisted living facilities, group homes, nursing homes and hospices. I aim to reduce fear and anxiety in caregivers so they have the resources needed to support the dying, families, and loved ones through this potentially challenging time.

recognizing and celebrating that we are all inextricably connected to each other by a power greater than all of us, and that our connection to that power and to one another is grounded in love and compassion.
